Checking workpiece seating in hot-forging dies
Automatically checking workpiece die seating during hot forging processes.
1. Since the workpieces are red-hot metal, they are affected by infrared which makes them appear blurry when photographed by a monochrome camera. The XG Series uses a colour cameras to capture a clear, good-contrast image. 2. Previous methods of performing this inspection relied on the perceptions of the human operators to do the work. Using megapixel cameras provides high-precision measurement in order to do accurate inspections for misalignment.

Since press cycles are between 3 and 5 seconds, the operator previously had to check the workpieces continuously and sometimes mistakes occurred. Using machine vision equipment ensures stable inspection, and reduces the number of workers needed.
