Detecting gear notch angles
Measuring notch angles to control parts so they are assembled at the correct angle.
The Trend Edge Tools can find the best fit circle that correlates with a part and then locate the center position. By detecting the notches in a workpiece at the same time,the XG is able to do high-speed, high-precision rotation angle detection.

Previously, the workpiece was rotated and a fibre sensor was used to detect the notch in order to correct the angle. This method had problems since positioning was time consuming and a drift in the center positions of parts caused detection errors. The XG is able to correct these issues.
